Spot and Carpet stain removal treatment

Stain removal is usually included in as part of the services most carpet cleaning companies provide.

With stain removal it is necessary to apply the right stain removal chemicals to the right kind of stain. Stains can be broken down into two categories namely water based and oil based stains.

Your best chance to remove stains is when you act quickly. The longer stains remain on your carpets or upholstery the harder they become to remove.

General stain removal tips include:

• Always select the proper agent to use such as water, acid, solvent, etc.
• When you are dealing with loose dyes, sensitive fibres or colours, it is recommended to test the chosen chemical solution in an inconspicuous area of the carpet first.
• Rubbing of stains should always be avoided as it causes damage to the carpet fibres and will alter the appearance of the carpet.

Please note stubborn carpet stains will probably require special stain removal chemicals and technical skills. Before you try to remove stains especially older ones it is advisable that you contact a trained carpet technician for further stain removal advice.
