What is Steam Cleaning

With steam cleaning as a popular cleaning method, hot water/detergent is injected under pressure, the soil is suspended and a wet vacuum simultaneously removes soil and excess moisture.

To prevent furniture and rust stains developing after carpet cleaning, protective squares must be placed under the furniture legs.

It is worthwhile to note that of all the carpet cleaning methods steam cleaning (also called hot water extraction) is the cleaning method most carpet manufacturers and professional carpet cleaners recommend.

Be careful using rental equipment should you want to clean your carpets yourself because they can lead to possible problems such as over-wetting, carpet fibre damage and yellowing to name a few.

Please check with the manufacturer of your carpet for their recommendations on the best cleaning method to use.
